Coach Bailey and Coach Dimpfel Capture 2021 Titans “World Series” Senior and Junior Titles

Playing in the World Series in October is every baseball player’s dream, even if it is a series of split-squad exhibition games to cap the Titans Fall Ball season.  According to Senior Division-winning coach Denis Bailey, the games have immediate and future importance:  “The Titans World Series games set the tone for the off-season.  The games help build the internal organizational competition between teammates.  They create momentum going into the 2022 CPBL season.”  Coach Bailey’s Team White triumphed over the Team Orange in the Senior Final, due to a number of notable pitching performances.  Ryan Smith threw six effective innings and Bailey noted that “Smitty set the tone for the weekend and held Team Orange in check.” Graham Sim was also effective in throwing a complete game gem for Team White.  A third Team White pitching performance was spectacular as Ryan Ledat (opener) and Cam Byers combined to throw a no-hitter.  Coach Bailey certainly showed his penchant for understatement when he concluded that “pitching was huge for Team White in all three games on the weekend in Nobleton.”  In addition to Team White’s excellent pitching, five other players provided the winning combination of offence and defence to propel the team to the Titans World Series championship.  Johnny Mantia, JT Fenn, Caden Reed, and George Medrano all mashed homeruns during their games on October 23 and 24.  Medrano also caught every inning for Team White in addition to his offensive contributions. Centerfielder Tarek Emara caught Coach Bailey’s eye because “he showed great grit and determination by playing through a nagging groin injury to patrol the outfield for Team White.”

Hoisting the new Titans World Series trophy was enough glory for one final weekend for the victorious Coach Bailey (Senior Division) and Coach Dimpfel (Junior Division) and established good-natured bragging rights for the winter.  Congratulations to all participants for building these Titans season-ending traditions.
