Giuseppe Sisca Signs Letter of Intent with the NCAA Russell Sage College Gators

by Jim Stewart

Titans 18U Outfielder Giuseppe Sisca has signed his letter of intent with the NCAA Russell Sage College Gators of Troy, New York.  The resident of Woodbridge, Ontario was happy to sign on the dotted line with the Gators and elaborated on his choice: “After a lot of consideration and research, I decided to commit with Russell Sage College in New York because I feel that it is the best opportunity for me to develop academically, professionally, and as an athlete.” Sisca also shared his education plans while in New York State:  “At Russell Sage College I will be studying Sports and Recreation Management. In this field, I will be taking specialized courses in sport law, management, marketing, sport facility and event management.” When asked what he’s looking most forward to when living in Troy, New York, Sisca focused on personal growth “as an individual by living on my own and learning about the area.”  He added humorously: “Oh, and of course listening to New Yorkers pronounce things like coffee and water.” Sisca was also appreciative of the efforts of Lawrence Vera and the College placement staff of the Titans Baseball Club:  “The Titans organization helped me with my college placement by finding me the school that offers me a great opportunity to succeed as an individual and as an athlete.  Without the help of the Titans organization, I may have never committed to a school.” The slugging outfielder shared his personal highlight from this past summer with the Titans:  “Ever since being with the Titans, I feel that I have grown as an athlete. This summer was definitely one for the records as we played during a crazy pandemic; however, even though we didn't have the chance to go over to the States and play, I had a great time playing here in Canada. While playing this summer, I hit 4 home runs which is an awesome highlight for myself as an athlete.” Sisca closed the interview with some sage advice for the younger players in the Titans program:  “The advice I can offer to the younger Titans players is to work hard every day and always reach your goals. Put your 100% every time you hit the field and improve your skills on and off. Don’t be discouraged if you have a bad game; sometimes you need to forget the mistakes and remember to always have fun! ”

Outfield Coordinator John Bethune knows his slugging, hard-working outfielder very well. He also coached Giuseppe at a previous CPBL stop prior to his current role with the Titans.  Coach Bethune’s view of his hard-hitting outfielder was laden with praise: "I'm extremely excited for and proud of Giuseppe on accepting his NCAA offer. I've seen tremendous growth in him over the past few seasons in the outfield and at the plate. Giuseppe has one of the hardest work ethics I've seen to go along with a strong arm and great routes to the ball in the outfield. His power at the plate is a difference maker. He'll be a great Gators’ clubhouse addition as he leads by example.”

Congratulations, Giuseppe, on becoming a Russell Sage College Gator.  Enjoy your NCAA experiences in New York!
