Hunter Housley Commits to Western Tech CC Cavaliers in Wisconsin

by Jim Stewart

Titans 18U Infielder Hunter Housley has committed to play for the NJCAA Western Tech Cavaliers in 2022. The Barrie, Ontario resident submitted his letter of intent to the La Crosse, Wisconsin junior college on Saturday.  He became the third Titan from the Class of ’22 to commit to a US College as November draws to an end. Housley offered three reasons for his post-secondary choice:  "I committed to Western Tech because I knew I could become a better athlete and a better student and to reach my career goals." The Honor Roll graduate of Bear Creek SS in Barrie is looking forward to starting his "next chapter as a Cavalier" and will be "taking Business Marketing, Construction Trades, and also Sports Management."

Housley indicated that he would like to transfer to a D1 after graduating from Western Tech CC and plans to "make my teammates around me better and help them go farther as well." He was appreciative of Titans staff in helping him choose the Cavaliers: "I had a sit down talk with two of my coaches (18U Head Coach and College Placement Coordinator Denis Bailey and 18U Assistant Coach Andrew Graham) and they helped me find a school that best represents me."

The 18U middle infielder felt that his "career highlight as a Titan has been knowing that every time I step on that field, my coaches know that I am giving a 100% and trying to help my team win and make a better impact as a Titan player."  Coach Graham offered a similar assessment of the current Titan and future Cavalier:  "Congratulations to Hunter. Western Tech is getting a good kid who works hard and is a good teammate." Hunter offered these tips to the younger Titans on the organization:  "The advice I would give is to keep your head up, focus on the next steps, keep pushing, and strive to be your best."

Congratulations, Hunter, on becoming a Western Tech CC Cavalier. All the best in Wisconsin as a Titans student-athlete!
