Titans’ 2nd Annual Movember Charity Game Set for October 16th

by Jim Stewart

The Titans Baseball Club raised $2333 for the Movember Foundation in their inaugural “Coaches versus Players” Charity Game in October 2020.  This year, the game moves from Tottenham Park in New Tecumseth to Milliken Mills Park in Markham, but the goal remains the same:  Raise Money for a Worthy Charity.

Titans Director of Player Development and Baseball Operations Lawrence Vera looks forward to this annual game for many reasons:  “It's time to help knock prostate and testicular cancer out of the park. Being a part of the Titans Baseball Club is also about giving back and supporting others. We are excited to take on the boys again to help raise money for such a worthy cause, looking to go 2-0 ;)

The 9-inning game will start at 10 AM as the Titans players look to avenge their 6-4 loss to the coaches in a hotly-contested game played in Arctic conditions on the frozen tundra of Tottenham.

The 23-man Titans players’ team will be comprised of 9 pitchers, 2 First Basemen, 5 Infielders, 2 Catchers, and 5 Outfielders.  2021 Participants are expected to make a minimum $75 donation directly to the Movember website.

The players’ team will be created, subsequently, on a “first-donate, then-rostered” basis.  Game participation “fees” go directly towards the Movember Foundation’s special focus on prostate and testicular cancer—two of the diseases among the group’s many treatment and research initiatives.

This year’s goal is $2500.Help us reach our goal by donating here
