Titans Baseball Club Raises $2,333 for Movember Foundation
The Titans Baseball Club’s Movember Foundation fundraising campaign exceeded the planning committee’s expectations. The C.P.B.L. organization surpassed its $2,000 target by $333 as November drew to a close. Director of Baseball Operations Lawrence Vera declared the campaign “a big success that showed the family spirit that characterizes the Titans baseball community.”
The Titans kicked off the fundraising campaign on Saturday, October 24 with the “Coaches versus Players Charity Game” held at Tottenham Park. The Coaching Staff eked out a 6-4 win over the Players for True North Facility bragging rights over the Winter. 21 Titans’ players paid $25 each to participate in the game on the semi-frozen tundra of Tottenham. Such generosity on the part of the players and their families jumpstarted the fundraising campaign with game participation funds going towards the Movember Foundation’s special focus on prostate and testicular cancer—two of the diseases among its many treatment and research initiatives. Many coaches also grew ceremonial and memorial moustaches for the month of November.
Thanks to the parents, players, coaches, and administrators of the Titans family for contributing so generously to this worthy cause. Cheers to one and all!
