Introducing the 11U and 13U Junior Titans Fall/Winter Development Program for OBA Players

The Titans Baseball Club is unveiling a pair of new youth teams that will don the navy and orange in Fall 2023.   

Titans Director of Baseball Operations Lawrence Vera introduced the Junior Titans 11U and 13U program. “This is an opportunity for OBA players to play for the Titans Baseball Club in the Fall and stay with the Titans over the Winter for extensive Winter Training at the True North Field House.  Players would then return to their OBA teams in the Spring as better ballplayers ready to take the field for their home centers.”  

Vera delineated the development program:  “OBA players who register for the program can continue playing baseball in September and October after their OBA season ends on Labour Day.  They’ll play 6-8 Fall Games and participate in 8 Fall practices. After players complete this outdoor component, the 11U and 13U Titans move indoors for two-times-a-week practice from November to April.  The indoor training will be comprised of over 70 hours of indoor training.  Players will receive progress report cards, will participate in an October tournament, and participate in a Spring Training tournament in the US—specifically, in Arizona. After the US tournament, the 11U Junior Titans and the 13U Junior Titans will return to their OBA teams for their Spring/Summer seasons.” 

The Head Coach of the 13U Junior Titans will be current Titans 17U Head Coach, Pitching Coordinator, and Director of Player Development Eddie McKiernan.  The Head Coach of the 11U Junior Titans will be current Titans 15U Head Coach and Director of Baseball Operations Lawrence Vera.  The cost of this comprehensive Fall and Winter baseball training program is $3000 (Payment Plan Below) which includes all of the above plus two shirts, shorts, and hat. Travel cost for tournaments would be borne by participating families. 

Coach Vera outlined the specific commitment to the Indoor component of the Junior Titans program:  “Indoor practice will run from November to April. Practices at the True North Fieldhouse will take place on Thursday nights 6-8 PM and Sunday mornings 8-10AM. One of the true highlights of this program will be going to Arizona during the March Break.  Coach Eddie McKiernan—a former Los Angeles Angel AAA pitcher, California High School Athlete of the Year, and top USA High School Coach-- spent many a Spring Training in Arizona so we have a great opportunity to train and play in excellent facilities.”

Prospective Junior Titans 11U players are born in 2013 or 2014; prospective Junior Titans 13U players are born in 2012 or 2011.

• August 8th (6pm) - True North Fieldhouse - 220 Pony Dr unit 3 Newmarket
• August 16th (6pm) - St. Andrews College - 15800 Yonge St, Aurora
• August 17th (6pm) - St. Andrews College - 15800 Yonge St, Aurora

We look forward to adding a significant development tier to the Titans Baseball Club and look forward to returning all participants to the their OBA teams in the Spring as better ballplayers for their home centres.
